Deborah Carr is a professor of sociology and director of the Center for Innovation in Social Science at Boston University. She is author of more than 100 academic articles and chapters, and several books including the award-winning 'Golden Years? Social Inequality in Later Life.' She studies end-of-life issues including bereavement, advance care planning, and death quality. She has also written widely on families in later life.
