Imported Food isn't what will make America Great!

The people complaining about how Tariffs are destroying the American economy have forgotten what life was like in 1992 before NAFTA.  People have forgotten how many US industries have moved offshore in the last 30 years, but what’s worse is that how badly Free Trade has destroyed family farms.  Tomato farms in Florida were destroyed by cheap imports from Mexico. Far too much of our food in America is imported.  America cannot be dependent on food from outside America and highly processed food at that.  A return to pre-NAFTA levels will be difficult at first, but we have to maintain as much of a domestic food supply as we can.  A nation that doesn’t make the food to feed its people is not a secure nation.  And by-and-large, imported beef as a good example, it’s dramatically inferior to US beef, and particularly, locally grown, farm-to-table beef.  Once you eat that, you’ll never want to go back.
