Imposter Syndrome, fact or fiction?
from Leadership Currency with Dr. Doug McKinley · host Doug McKinley, Psy.D.
Do you ever feel like a fraud? Impostor syndrome is known to occur among high achievers who are unable to internalize and accept their own success. They frequently attribute their accomplishments to luck rather than to ability, and worry that others will eventually unmask them as a fraud. Though impostor syndrome isn't an official diagnosis, psychologists and others acknowledge that it is a very real and specific form of intellectual self-doubt. Impostor feelings are generally accompanied by anxiety and often depression. Rachelle Mohns, a colleague and friend, joins Dr. McKinley on the podcast today for a raw discussion about the nature and nuisances of imposter syndrome.
