Improving Our Support for Early Returned Missionaries

from Not Your Mama's Relief Society · host Annie Carter

With so many missionaries coming home before 18 or 24 months, we need to improve how we interact with these young adults. Kris Doty-Yells is a licensed clinical social worker with a specialty in crisis intervention and trauma. She also has a Ph.D. in social work. After her son returned early from his mission and she saw the impact that it had on him, she began her research into how missionaries are affected by their early return. She shares her own insights as a mother and her data as a behavioral health researcher in this week's episode. Hint: We could do a lot better in how we support these missionaries. If you would like to hear more about her research and what her tips are on how to improve our conversations then listen now to this episode!
