In Everything, Glorify God - Fr. Micah - February 16, 2025

Fr. Micah begins today’s sermon by quoting the Epistle, in which Paul says, “Glorify God in your body.” Fr. Micah emphasizes the importance of the physical and the sacredness of the body. He then references the parable of the prodigal son in today's gospel reading, pointing out that a physical hunger is the starting point of the prodigal son’s transformation. He explains that hunger causes us to recognize that we are not truly autonomous, and that we can glorify God in our hunger, in our body.Fr. Micah then gives examples of other ways we can glorify God throughout the days leading up to Pascha — with our giving, with our fasting, with our words, with the sign of the Cross, with our daily rhythms, with our tears. He encourages us to reflect on all these ways we can glorify God, and to open ourselves up to his glory and love.
