Hello, and welcome to the Will Preach for Food podcast. I’m Doug, the pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, based out of Shelton, Washington and a congregation of the ELCA. Faith is a beloved, inclusive community striving to grow closer to and more like Jesus, for the sake of the world. Thanks for making this podcast part of your day.

We’ve just begun a series on the Ten Commandments. So, whether the Ten Commandments makes you think of Charlton Heston, Mel Brooks, or Larry the Cucumber, please open your Small Catechism to the first part: The Ten Commandments. Today we are looking at #2: You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.  I’m going to lift up three ways we honor the second commandment: We SPEAK God’s name for worship. We BEAR God’s name in our very existence as people of Faith. We GLORIFY God’s name when we participate in God’s mission and purposes. There will be some takeaways, and there is a FAITH5 handout as well as Small Catechism resources available at our website, www.faithshelton.org.

The KJV is the only Bible in the English language today that has the authorization of a king connected to it- King James of England.Read Ecclesiastes 8:4 and you will know and understand why the living God would have us here at "The Word Of The King" as well as "HOLYness BIBLEs for the blind", but most importantl RedemptionJHB RedemptionJHB Redemption Church is a place where you will be established in the Gospel of Grace. When you understand your true identity in Christ you will grow to fulfil the destiny and purpose that He has for you.At Redemption Church we choose to be Christ centred, not sin centred. It is a place where people matter, not their sin. Redemption Church is a place where families do church together. In fact, children are a priority to us because we know that they are a priority to you. We believe that you will be happy to invite your friends to Redemption Church because it is ‘everything good about church’. As we worship, preach and create, we strive to present the timeless message of Jesus Christ in all its beauty. Although our approach to church is anything but traditional, we desire to preach the Gospel the way the apostle Paul did.
