Reading the New Covenant (or the Old) without context or having even a light understanding of the culture of the time, can leave you scratching your head over some of the things people did. Some people feel that way about Jesus as well. He was so loving and gracious and forgiving, and then He seeming get angry with a fig tree and curse it, or make a whip and drive people out of the Temple. Why did He do that?
