In Our Weakness - Fr. Micah - June 29, 2025

In this week’s Epistle reading, St. Paul tells us that he boasts in his weakness. Fr. Micah focuses on this concept in today’s sermon, showing us how we encounter God in our weaknesses. When we experience weakness, brokenness, and trials, we’re able to lay aside our egos and ask God for help. In the stories of the men and women of the Scriptures — including St. Peter, whom we celebrate on this Sunday — God’s grace is sufficient and his power made perfect in our weaknesses. The same is true in our own lives today.When we encounter our weaknesses, trials, and difficulties in life, Fr. Micah asks, "What do we do?" First, do not despair. Christ is there in our weaknesses. Second, go to church and to confession. Receive the mysteries and allow Christ’s life to deliver us from death. Third, run to our mother, the Theotokos, knowing that her Son is with us and she will ever embrace us.
