In Prison, Paul Didn't Pray To Get Out. He Prayed For Your Soul

What you pray for when life is hardest reveals what you truly love. Pastor John S. Dickerson points out something easy to miss in Ephesians 6:19-20. Paul writes this letter from a prison cell, in chains, and if anyone had the right to ask for comfort it was him. Pray that I get released. Pray that the food improves. Pray that my chains come off. Instead, out of the entire letter, Paul's one personal prayer request is not about his circumstances at all. It's that God would give him courage to keep sharing the gospel with the people around him.
