In the Beginning - Audio

from Chiangmai Christian Fellowship · host Tim Dunham

Celebrating the faith - At Easter, we celebrate the death of Jesus as the once for all, completely sufficient sacrifice for our sin, and the resurrection by which He proved He has overcome death. At Pentecost, which we actually don’t celebrate, but we should be celebrating the arrival of the promised Holy Spirit who brings to us the promised blessings and benefits of salvation. But, what exactly do we celebrate at Christmas. The obvious answer would be the birth of Jesus, but if that is all we are celebrating we are missing the real point of Christmas! Christmas is more than just Jesus birth, although the is a huge part of it! We call it Advent, because we also celebrate not only His birth, but His coming, His arrival on earth. That get’s closer, but still falls short of the full glory of Christmas. What we are ultimately celebrating at Christmas time is the Incarnation - the glorious wonder of eternal God becoming flesh and blood! That is the fullest and deepest wonder of Christmas
