Inability to rescue our children’s pain from them during COVID-19

from Can't Call Your Mom with Nicole Weston · host Nicole Weston | Motherless mothers navigating life after motherloss

I sat down with Heather Meeks and Kelley Oswin to discuss their experience of COVID-19 and having teenagers who are both set to complete High School.  We talked about the grief their daughters are experiencing because of the uncertainty of this time. We agreed this conversation was so important to have because we are not the only mothers struggling with the pressure of having to BE all the roles that comes when the village we had has come to a stop.  We acknowledged the importance of keeping it simple and holding space for kids to just be. While managing the guilt that comes with feeling like “we should” be doing more.  It was a powerful conversation because we allowed ourselves to be vulnerable because we don’t have the answers and letting that be ok is what we all need right now.
