Welcome to the Tweet Trends podcast. Hey, Evette, what's trending today? Hey, I mean, that's the hey girl, and you are tuned in to Tweet Trends. It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today.
All right, well, guess what? Today is Thursday. Enough said, let's get started. Okay, so today is the day after the inauguration, and I've got so much stuff bouncing around in my mind, so many things that I want to talk about, so I'm gonna try to get out a couple of those topics today.
One of which is the fact that yesterday, I can tell you that I felt very stressed to start off the day, and it was because I had this uneasy feeling about how the day was gonna go, and it all stems from the January 6 situation with that deadly capital insurrection. You know, I felt the same way I did, the first time President Obama was elected, and he went through his inaugural day activities. I was like a cat on hot tin roof. I was nervous for him and his family, because I just felt like there are some people out there that are so mean, so nasty, so evil, that they might try to do something to the first family, and I just did not know how I was gonna be able to bounce back from that, and I had that same feeling yesterday, and it was all because of all of the shenanigans and nonsense that took place on the 6th, but then I had to stop myself and think about it and say, you know what, wait a minute, they did every one of a service versus a disservice.
They did every one of service by showing their hand. They let us see what they were capable of, what they had in mind, how they were thinking, and that allowed everyone to kind of open their eyes and take notice, literally, they put everybody on notice like, look, we are not happy, and we about to do something about it, and therefore everybody pretty much got shut down and shut out of darn near everything, you know, and it made me then feel so much better once I came to groups with that concept that you know what, they made things so difficult for people that, you know, I think people were just kind of like, you know what, you got me this time, but maybe later on somebody may do something crazy, but that wasn't gonna be the day, it was not gonna be on inauguration day, even down to the point where groups that said they were gonna have protests at various capital buildings and various states, like only a handful of people showed up, like there was even one I saw where only one guy showed up, and you know, I think it was funny, because they had footage of him standing out there with his little flag by himself, and you know, I'm like, oh well, you know, if nothing else, I could say this for you, that's dedication, that you know, you're just gonna kind of hang out there and wait thinking that well maybe you just got there early, and the other people are on their way, so I'm just gonna kind of hang out here, and at least I got a good spot on the front and center, and be right ready to make some noise and irritate some people today, but yeah, right now it's just me, so I'm just gonna kind of sit here with my flag and you know, wave it here and there, but yeah, so like I said, I was very uneasy, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that you know what, everything is gonna be just fine. Like other people, I thoroughly enjoyed watching President Biden and Vice President Harris take their oaths yesterday, and then on top of that, the fact that they got in there and hit the ground running, President Biden signed a series of executive orders roughly just five hours after his first day as being the 46th president, and I can't be mad at him, because he was a part of the administration before 45, and there was a lot of hard work they put into getting certain things in place, and when 45 came into office, he did his best to undo every single thing that had been done by the previous administration, and to me, it was a hateful act, it wasn't so much that he was trying to do things to make the country better, that it was more along the lines of my fan base, and yes, I called it this fan base, my fan base didn't like this guy, so I'm gonna undo everything this guy did, and then that's gonna make me even more popular with my fan base, and then I'll be trending, I'll be great, they're gonna love me, and that sort of thing. That's my own personal thoughts on it.
So now he did a lot of stuff, but he didn't do it on this first day, as a matter of fact, as far as I can recall, I think that he only did like one thing his first day in office, and that was to sign, to try to get rid of the Affordable Care Act, and that in fact failed, because honestly, I don't think he had anything to put in place of it once it went away, and therefore I think that became the big issue. If he would have had something decent to replace it with, I think everybody would have been like, okay, yeah, let's do that, those Republicans, they were willing to bend over backwards and pay the guy with blood, so I can easily see them saying, yeah, let's go ahead and do this, let's put your stuff in place, let's get rid of this other dude stuff, and let's go, let's go. But because Trump did not have a plan, then, you know, who can go with a non-plan? That's just crazy, crazy talk, I tell you crazy talk.
So anyway, a couple of the things that Joe Biden actually signed one was to rejoin the World Health Organization, and another was to rejoin the Paris Climate Accord. Now, there are a host of other things that he signed, I will not be surprised if he does not have a cramp in his hand when he woke up this morning because of all of the various orders that he signed. But if you go to WhiteHouse.gov and go to the briefing room portion of the website, you can actually see all the presidential actions that took place yesterday, and it'll say presidential action and the date January 20th, 2021. So there's no confusion, it's not hard to find, you go there and you can just scroll right through, it's plenty, so if you just have some free time you wanna read, go to WhiteHouse.gov because there's plenty of stuff for you to check out there.
Check out. Now, on to the entertaining portion of the inauguration. Now, one, there is a gang of memes out there, so if you have not seen any of the memes, you gotta check them out, especially the one with Bernie. Bernie Sanders, you gotta check him out.
Now, I don't know, I mean, it might be once a little about the memes about Bernie Sanders, just because I felt like people were trying to coat shame him, you know, or maybe it wasn't so much to coat as it was his body language, but you know what, it was cold out there, I saw flurries of snow, so it wasn't hot. So yeah, he was bundled, he had on his tried and true jacket, with some cute little mittens. You know what, Bernie, do you boo, you were warm, you did that, you was there, your face was in the place, there were other people, they didn't even show up, but you were there, you showed your support, and I got your back for that. Now, other memes went along the lines of the note that the president 45 left for 46, Joe Biden, and now we all know and have probably heard already that the president did not leave a note like previous presidents have done to the people that have come after them.
However, from what I do understand though, Mike Pence left a note for the incoming president. And, but there's all the jokes about the different little trivial posted notes that had been left behind for the new incoming president, which to me were straight up hilarious, because I could see old Patty White doing something like that. I could see him just jotting something down on a to post it note and probably putting it like under the desk like he would stick a piece of gum and be like, yeah, if he happens to see a grade, if not, oh, well, it'll lose its stickiness after some point time, it'll float to the ground, somebody will see it eventually, but yeah, I'm not here for it, I'm not here for him. I don't care, I hope he fails, I hope he does not succeed.
I just feel like there would have been so much negativity. I hope they got their palosantos and burnt it and took it all around the White House to get those evil spirits out of there, because I can only imagine what kind of jiu-jiu they left on that place, but that's needed here nor there. The silver lining of all of this, now I know that the coronavirus has been devastating, and when I say devastating, I mean to the tune of 400,000 plus lives that have been lost to this virus. So I try to always look for that silver lining, the positive thing that come out of it, and I must say that we have been given and granted access to things that we would not normally have been able to come across or be tick part in.
We had these different ceremonies where we got to see from start to finish, you got to see all the different entertainers thing, and it made me feel like I was a part, like almost to the point where in the future, if things go back to face to face, I might try to see if I can get into some of these venues to see them firsthand for myself, because this was a great experience to be able to sit at home and feel like I was truly a part of this whole inauguration festivities that they had going on these past couple of days. Now, my ultimate though that I thoroughly enjoyed was the fashion, and I'm no fashionista, I am not a fashion plate, but I enjoyed seeing the monochromatic looks of the women that were up there, the I, oh gosh, I loved it. And to me it's crazy, because it's almost like everybody called each other up, and you know, whether they pulled a color from a hat or they called each other and cleared it with the next, like, okay, nobody wear white, J-Lose got the white, Michelle Obama has the plum, you know, like they went down the list and was like, okay, everybody make sure you have your own particular color and rock that, your jacket, your outfit, your shoes, yes, down to your shoes, make sure your shoes go with your outfit, because if not, you are not gonna be in formation with the rest of us. I absolutely loved seeing that.
And then on top of that, to find out that the designer that put together Michelle Obama's look is from my home state, South Carolina. What, Sergio, you go ahead now, okay, represent to the fullest. That's what I'm talking about, S.C. in the house.
But like I said, we went from serious pump and circumstance to silly stuff with the memes, and just plain old, good down home entertainment, and the fact that so many groups were representing in these various events that took place. They had the young people where Kiki Palmer was the host of the youth celebration, our White House. You had Tom Hanks, he was the host of the Celebrating America program. I just loved it.
And it gave me hope that things are finally gonna start looking like what they should look like very soon. Like things are turning around. Yeah, things are definitely turning around. That was today's episode of Tweet Trends.
I hope you enjoyed these past couple of days celebrating the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. And it just reminds me of these past four years I had to kind of remind myself day after day, every time something crazy would happen. Kind of along the lines are the idea of Vishan Mitchell's song, if you haven't heard it, he's a gospel singer, and he's got this song called Turning Around For Me. And one part of it says that it won't always be like this, and that God is gonna perfect that concern in me, and that sooner or later, it'll turn in my favor.
It's turning around for me. And honestly, I saw it yesterday, that things are turning around for us, and I'm so excited and looking forward to what this new administration has for all of us. One thing I have for you though, is how you can find me on social media.
