An 18-year-old British incel who asked an AI chatbot for murder advice was sentenced to life in prison for killing his mother. Tristan Roberts bludgeoned Angela Shellis to death with a hammer, then coolly messaged online: "I smashed her skull in." Before the killing, he had crafted detailed revenge plans, searched how to clean a murder scene, and posed as a fiction writer to bypass the AI's safety filters. At sentencing, a judge said his victim's final moments were unimaginable—especially knowing the attacker was her own son.
