Increase My Capacity Part 3: The things we overlook “A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.” So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.” So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”” II Kings 4:1-7 NKJV Introduction Cry out for help every time you are stuck and don’t have a solution to your problems You belong to God remember We have a lot of people who sit in isolation with a big problem and people only find out what happened to you after disaster has occurred  This woman didn’t cried to the prophet of God What shall I do for you? Before she could even answer. What do you have in the house? Maybe the reason for no answer on the first question was because she was overwhelmed by the situation Have you ever been in a situation where you don’t know where to start? What do you have in your house? God did ask for what he doesn’t have Her focus was on what she didn’t have? I don’t have a college degree I don’t have a job I don’t have a husband I don’t have influential friends  I don’t have enough money I don’t have… church building …  The question is, what do you have in your house? The solution for your problems is right under your nose, where you are Others will even leave the place where God positioned them, ignoring what is in their house The things we ignore are pregnant with our breakthrough You have been looking for joy outside your marriage because you are having disagreements with your partner That child you ignored, God wants to use to change the world Jesse! It’s amazing that the king of Israel was in the house where he was not even noticed Nothing but, things we ignore Verse 2 b: “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” Nothing but, 5 loaves 2 fishes  Nothing but, a shepherd boy going to kill giants with bird hunting weapon Nothing but, a rod and stuttering speech against an angry king Nothing but, a stay home mom Nothing but, a divorcee Nothing but, an inexperienced teenage girl with a big task to bring a Savior of the world Nothing but, an isolated young queen who is about to see her nation wiped out Nothing but, a small boy from a small family of the smallest tribe going to fight the Midianites armies with a smallest troops Nothing but, worship team full of young people Nothing but, a handful church in a garage How many things have we called insignificant, too small, not worth considering and unimportant that God could have multiplied if we gave Him a chance to? Jesus made dynamic apostles out of rejected fisher man. What else can He make out of your life? He thrives in showing off to the enemy in prospering nothing but Conclusion  II Timothy 2:20-22 NKJV God wants to use us as vessels of honor God wants to use all vessels in His house, remember capacity must be increased  For us to be used by God to our full potential we need to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus God will use us to our full capacity if we allow him to regardless of our background and social status Everything is unlocked by the relationship we have with God through His Son Jesus Christ  Amen
