Increasing violent crimes

In the recent past South Africa has seen crimes make headlines. Newspaper headlines, radio news bulletins and TV bulletins have been topping with crime stories, from Cash in Transits, political murders and femicide. Social media has also seen a rise in the reporting of crimes, where some people who were alleged to be involved in these crimes where depicted. Is there a need of a state emergency or some sort of national dialogue that will seek to address all these crimes? Are some these crimes as a result of the poor living conditions of the people of South Africa and lack of jobs? What is government saying about these? What is the president saying?
