For all the talk of Inherent Vice ’s hazylazy and sunshine-y avoidance of dark and gritty neo-noir, the movie doesn’t get much more harrowing than our favorite gumshoe (or gumsandal, I guess) getting tied to a pipe and shot full of PCP in last week’s scene…or maybe it does?
