Incubation in Creativity 💡

Have you started projects and then left them for a while, only to come back to them later and then finish them, with more satisfaction then you expected? (When you initially "left" them?) Have you forced yourself to finish a project to find yourself frustrated, or just..not inspired? Do you find that you often do your best work after procrastinating & waiting till the last minute? How is art therapy creative problem solving? I explore these questions by talking about the concept of incubation, in the creative process, referencing a textbook that I actually enjoyed reading on the science of creativity! The texbook: The Science of Human Innovation, Explaining Creativity, 2nd Edition, by R Keith Sawyer. I reference this and my own experiences of course! Thanks for tuning in and let me know what you think by emailing @[email protected] or hitting me up! I hope you learn something new, or at least, get a different perspective on the creative process and those times where you feel "uninspired." It's really a blessing in disguise! Listen to find out how and why! ❤💡 (Referenced Ted Talk about procrastination on Youtube: https://youtu.be/fxbCHn6gE3U). This is not actually the Ted Talk I was thinking about but it also supports the point I was trying to make. I will have to dig up all of my YouTube playlists to find the exact one that I was referencing and share it in a later episode... Enjoy!
