In this episode, we had the pleasure of hosting Shubham Kundu, my senior from school, with whom I shared fond memories of our first interaction and experiences. Shubham shared insights into his educational journey and his decision to pursue music full-time, highlighting his parents' reactions and support, including his mom, a math teacher at the same school. We explored Shubham's music genre and how he began publishing music, delving into the journey of an independent musician, the struggles he faced, and the story behind "Cinnamon Cigars." Shubham also shed light on the world of concerts and shows for independent musicians, opening for various artists, and the challenges of streams and monetization in the music industry. Our conversation extended to discussing the role of labels in the music industry, marketing tactics for creating a viral track, and the sometimes darker realities within the industry. We concluded by delving into Shubham's vision and future aspirations. It was a delightful and informative episode, offering a glimpse into the life and experiences of a talented musician.
