Indescribable Compassion

In the bustling streets of ancient Capernaum, where dust clung to sandals and hope seemed a distant memory, I met Him.*

Jesus.

His name echoed through the crowd, whispered by the wind, a promise of something extraordinary.

And there He stood—unassuming yet radiant, a beacon of compassion.

His eyes held galaxies of empathy. How could mere mortal eyes contain such boundless love?

The leper approached, his body a roadmap of suffering. His plea trembled in the air, desperate yet hopeful.

"Heal me," he implored, and Jesus—oh, Jesus—didn't recoil. Instead, He reached out, touched the untouchable.

And the leper's skin, once marred by decay, transformed. The curse lifted.

But it wasn't just flesh that healed. It was the soul—the leper's heart, cracked and brittle, now mended.

And I, a silent witness, felt my own heart stir.

Next came the paralytic.

His friends, determined and desperate, lowered him through the roof. Dust rained down, and the crowd gasped.

Jesus looked up, and I swear time paused. His voice, gentle yet thunderous, echoed through the rafters.

"Your sins are forgiven," He declared.

Forgiven? The Pharisees scoffed. But I—I glimpsed eternity in that moment.

The paralytic, trembling, rose. His legs, once useless, now carried him.

And I—we—were all paralyzed by awe.

Indescribable compassion.

It's not merely healing bodies—it's resurrecting souls.

In Jesus, I found a love that doesn't flinch at our brokenness.

He doesn't measure worth by deeds or pedigree.

He sees the lepers, the paralytics, the doubters.

And He whispers, "You are enough."

His touch—the same touch that healed the leper and lifted the paralytic—reaches across time.

To you. To me.

Jesus, the compassionate heart.
