Indian-origin billionaire Vikas Rambal’s Perdaman leads Australia's large-scale oil refinery plan

from SBS Hindi

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced $4 million in funding for a pre-feasibility study into a proposed large-scale oil refinery in Karratha, Western Australia. The study will be carried out by Perdaman, which is already building a $6.4 billion fertiliser manufacturing facility in the Pilbara. The proposed Made in WA Fuel Refinery aims to strengthen Australia's fuel security and, if approved, would become the country's third oil refinery and the first new large-scale petrol refinery built since the 1960s. Perdaman Chairman and Indian-origin billionaire Vikas Rambal said the project would be a "game-changer" for Australia's fuel security and manufacturing sector.
