Indiana Hoosiers Land Point Guard Markus Burton

Markus Burton, a former Indiana Mr. Basketball, joins Indiana mens basketball from Notre Dame, bolstering the Hoosiers backcourt for the 2026-27 season. Despite a challenging past season due to an ankle injury, Burtons scoring prowess is undeniable, averaging over 17 points per game. His sophomore year saw him lead the ACC in scoring, and last season he averaged 18.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists, shooting nearly 49% from the field. This transfer commitment provides new coach Darian DeVries with an instant starter at point guard, signaling a strong start to the Hoosiers offseason recruitment.
