Indiana Weather 3/8 Morning - Flood Warning

Good morning. Indiana. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you'll notice something. The air feels lighter. After dumping over half an inch of rain on us yesterday, that thick blanket of clouds is finally peeling back. The clearing line is sweeping west to east through mid-morning. And sunshine's punching through. Today's a gift. Mostly sunny skies with highs climbing to the upper 50s and low 60s. Down in Evansville, you'll hit 62 degrees. Up in Fort Wayne, expect 59. Winds pick up this afternoon, gusting to 30 miles an hour, especially north. Tonight stays mild — lows in the low to mid 40s under clear skies. Monday? Even better. Wall-to-wall sunshine with highs near 70 degrees statewide. Perfect weather to get outside before the pattern flips. And flip it does. Tuesday brings clouds rolling back in with showers and storms developing by afternoon. Southwest Indiana has the best shot at rain — 50 percent chance — with temps spiking to 78 degrees. Central and northern areas reach the low to mid 70s with lower rain odds. Tuesday night into Wednesday is the main event. Heavy rain becomes likely as a strong system barrels through the Great Lakes. We're talking 1 to 2 inches of rainfall, widespread storms. And a severe weather risk Wednesday morning into early afternoon. Highs hit the low 70s before the cold front crashes through. Behind that front? A temperature nosedive. Wednesday night plunges to the upper 20s and low 30s. Rain may mix with or change to snow on the backside. Thursday turns downright chilly — highs only in the low to mid 40s. The weekend rebounds. Temperatures climb back to the 50s with dry conditions returning. Enjoy today while it lasts.
