Charges of overburdened caseworkers have surrounded Indiana's Department of Child Services for years, but criticism reached a new level when the director of DCS resigned less than a month ago. Mary Beth Bonaventura's letter to the governor about the state's failure to meet the needs of its most vulnerable children made national headlines and certainly has the attention of Indiana legislators.
