Shondra M. Quarles is a teacher and children’s book author who lives in Dallas.. Ms. Quarles’ students inspired her to write and self publish her first e-book Kindergartner Wisdom: The Best Advice I Ever Got Came from Kindergartners in 2014. Shondra later went on to self-publish her first paperback book, The Teacher Who Didn’t Want to Go to School. This book earned her a prestigious award from the National Celebrity Educators for authoring a book about teachers. The Teacher Who Didn’t Want to Go to School was also a children’s book finalist for the 2017 Indie Author Legacy Awards. Shondra also co-authored a book titled Trees in 2017. This book teaches children that trees are living things and diverse just like us. Her latest is titled My Black is Beautiful. My Black is Beautiful was written to encourage women and girls of color to love their diverse shades of skin. Shondra was also a featured author at the 2018 NAACP Convention in San Antonio.
