Indie Comics Spotlight: Borders

from Comics In Motion · host Comics In Motion Network

Welcome to Indie Comics Spotlight. Each week Tony Farina of DC Comics News will be joined by other comic aficionados to do a deep dive into a series or standalone graphic novel from any publisher other than the big two. This week, Tony is joined by Thanos Kyratzis writer of a comic that is currently on Kickstarter called Borders. What is Borders? It’s impossible not to have a discussion about an issue like that. But a discussion means listening just as much as talking. This is what Abriele Skaite (the artist) and Thanos Kyratzis (the writer) were thinking when they conceived Borders. Borders was created by two migrants and based on the words of different people from all over the world. The issue of borders is a nuanced one, with impacts on personal and social level that have become particularly important in recent years. The book contains 15 interviews on borders as a concept from people whom Abriele and Thanos are lucky to know. Then those interviews became 15 double-paged illustrations. If you want to talk with Tony about comics or to suggest any future shows, please connect with him on Twitter @Tricycleboombox. You can read his reviews of multiple Independent and DC comics at DC Comics News. Please, please please support Thanos and his Kickstarter. Follow him on Twitter or Instagram. Please go to Minds in the Gutter to see more from his band of geeks and how they look at comics. Please follow Gabriele on Instagram here and her portfolio is here.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
