Songwriting came to me in stages, and I am just now more aware of my influences that helped to form the way I write, and why I write. My grandfather is Irish and he was very important to me in many ways. He taught me so much about life. He had a small farm, and he was always working around his farm. He was always whistling. I never realized he also taught me about melody and how to write one.
