from Empowerography

In the latest episode of the Empowerography Podcast, my guest is Nadia George. Nadia George is an Indigenous actor, media personality, public speaker and facilitator based out of Toronto, with over a decade of professional experience in Social Services. Nadia’s work focuses on uplifting young voices, addressing stigmas around contemporary Indigenous identity, and advocating for the equity of Indigenous Communities and People in Canada. Nadia is very open and public about her work, believing that education and awareness on these matters is where change will start. Presently, Nadia sits on the Board of Advisors for the Child Welfare PAC, which advocates for positive outcomes for youth aging out of care, and former Foster Kids. In addition to the PAC she also works with the Influencers Motiv8 Organization as a National Ambassador; which, works collaboratively with Public Figures, to shed light around Mental Health and Well-being in Indigenous Communities, through various art forms. In this episode we discuss acting, community, philanthropy, indigenous culture, struggles and stigmas around indigenous culture and giving back.
