Ineffectual talons/claws

Today I saw a pair of passive talons/claws, seemingly not attached to any body, though potentially scary and dangerous. It has caused me to think of the devil's tactics to scare us into thinking there is no God or if He exists that He is an unjust, unloving and ineffectual God. The devil prowls around looking for those who think like that (see 1 Peter 5:8). Thankfully, in 1 Peter 5:6 we read, "Humble yourselves therefore under God's mighty hand that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you". The reality is that there are times when we will need lifting up and we will have anxieties to cast on God. Look up at God's forgiveness of you through Jesus on the cross, rather than wallow in guilt, shame and/or worry which the devil wants you to feed on. 1 Peter 5:9 tells us, "Resist him, standing firm in the faith".
