In this podcast, I discuss 2 specific online client cases where dietary changes influenced their low back pain and helped them achieve the next level of recovery! Also, this podcast is addressing chronic systemic inflammation and its influences on low back pain, NOT acute inflammation that is a vital part of the body's natural recovery response.  Well although I have never seen a case where dietary changes and inflammation were the #1 cause of low back injuries involving typical low back pain, disc herniation, or sciatica...... I have seen some significant influences on low back pain from addressing inflammation through dietary and lifestyle changes! One key understanding here is that generally speaking to become a healthier person through dietary and lifestyle changes you are becoming just that, healthier! Anyone dealing with any issues that choose to improve their diet, reduce inflammation, and improve their blood work is going to feel better in all areas and with all injuries regardless of what it is. This can serve to be additional assistance when it comes to injury recovery or injury prevention but in my experience has never been the sole reason. A movement based problem needs a movement-based solution, and even if you totally convert to an anti-inflammatory diet for your low back pain but still are sitting 10 hours a day, not moving the right way, have not implemented the right rehab movements for you, have not addressed mobility restrictions, have not addressed the disc obstruction or nerve issue, and have not changed your habits or education regarding low back issues then you will not ultimately succeed! These are going to be the foundation for long-term sustainable changes, not just changing your diet. But changing your diet can make a very positive impact and help your overall wellbeing to achieve a higher quality of life!
