Economic data showing some easing on the inflation front has lifted equity markets around the world, but investors are now turning their attention to the earnings season, with some of the big US banks reporting today. In the bond markets, US interest rates have begun a consolidation process that could extend through to next week and into the pre-FOMC period of silence.
