Inflation falls to 3.8%, easing rate hike pressure
from 7News Just In · host LiSTNR
Australia's annual headline inflation rate fell to 3.8% in the 12 months to June, down from 4% in May and lower than economists' forecasts. The figure remains above the Reserve Bank of Australia's target band of 2-3%, but the better-than-expected result reduces pressure for an interest rate hike when the RBA meets next month. The federal government's fuel excise relief of 16 cents per litre will end at midnight on Sunday.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
