Eddie Beckford - originally from New York City, but now living in Arad, Israel, made a promise to God back in Vietnam, but says that in 1979, the Lord 'tricked him'! Born in Spanish Harlem, Eddie, with his wife, Lura, now runs a chess club and outreach centre in the south of Israel. But back in the early seventies, after he'd survived the Vietnam War, Eddie had quite a different lifestyle.
