"ING" not "ED"

from Viral Mindfulness the Podcast · host Alexander Smith | Mindfulness Teacher

In this episode I tried something a little different. I wrote this episode out on paper, by hand, during a timed writing practice exercise. Pen to paper while hand and mind keep moving. I recently heard a behavioral scientist share a story about her friend -- a man that had lost one of his legs to amputation. She said: "He's transcending the loss and deep changes in his life." The other person listening made some comments and finished with "he transcended his experience." Before I could take a breath the behavioral scientist is correcting this comment so thoughtfully: "No, that's not accurate. It's important to note he is transcending the circumstances. He has not finished nor was it a one time event. It's a continuous intentional choice." We are in the process. There's often not an answer, but a process. Stay wild, playful, and flexible. Live in the ING of it all!
