Inn to space: The Robert Bigelow story

from Journey to the Fringe

Welcome back to yet another episode of Journey to the Fringe now playing: Season 3.To pump us up this week as our warm up to the main event, Taylor is sharing a (vaguely) relatable and/or inspiring story of a newly elected congress member George Santos... who lied about everything. It really is everything including graduating, where he's worked and being Jew(ish). We also don't know where he lives or where all the money he has came from... to list only a few mysteries in this here description. Good luck New York state! You're going to need that pump up because this week we're delving into all that is Robert Bigelow, millionaire... or was it billionaire, I can't remember right now. I'm sure it says in the episode. We talk about kid Bigelow's dreams and limitations of heading to space, and what got him to the eccentric m/billionaire status that he became. We look at a couple of major "projects" on the Bigelow time line.First up is the history & happenings of Bigelow aerospace. B.A. develops the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM) under contract by NASA and still remains at the ISS to this day, and we also talk about the plans for the inflatable space hotel. What ever happened to that?Next BULLET POINT, Anomalies research. Where we found out how deeply his interest runs. What comes of this interest? The Bigelow Foundation, of course, in which he funded research by Budd Hopkins, John E Mack, Bob Lazar and Linda Moulton Howe. Bigelow also purchases multiple properties (ranches) undergoing paranormal anomalies in order to conduct research, also, Area 2000. A radio show, not a ranch to our surprise. Then there is the National Institute for Discovery Sciences, the infamous NIDS, that studied all things anomalies incl uding cattle mutilations, black helicopters, and more things than UFOS, they even study Skinwalker Ranch. We do talk about Skinwalker ranch, only a little though. Then there's the Bigelow Chair of Consciousness Studies...Wow there's alot to discuss, i'm moving on, time for the next BULLET POINT Consciousness studies this is where we talk about why he developed this interest and what he did with his interest which is basically holding a contest(s) seeking the best available evidence of survival of consciousness...etc, i've been typing for a while now so im just going to end that here. What do we think about Bigelow? You better believe that's also in the episode.Don't forget to follow and listen to any other episodes in our catalogue that may pique your interest.
