Innovations from the Architectural Digest Home Design Show

from MyFixitUpLife home show · host MyFixitUpLife Mark & Theresa

Designers are sounding off about what impressed at this year's Architectural Digest Home Design Show We're talking with top New York home design style-makers about the 2014 Architectural Digest Home Design Show (ADHDS) on this week's MyFixitUpLife talk show. We're talking avant garde genius, home technology, and how to embrace a risk-taking attitude in your home design with two of our favorite designers Patrick Hamiliton and Tyler Wisler. Popularly known as 'Ask Patrick' in the social networking world, Patrick Hamilton is an interior designer, tastemaker, stylist and stager. As seen on HGTV, "Small Space, Big Style" and "Rate My Space." Featured on HouseBeautiful.com. Winner of the ApartmentTherapy.com first annual "Smallest Coolest Apartment Contest," winner of the Bloomingdale's "Big Window Challenge," with interiors appearing everywhere from the cover of Florida Home & Garden to the pages of Ladies Home Journal. Patrick is also an interior blogger, writer, interviewer and diehard interior enthusiast. Patrick says: “Context is huge in pulling a space together, and each piece (ideally) relates to the next. It’s like having one lonely guest at a costume party... no one feels comfortable when the first arrival has nobody to talk to.” Tyler Wisler is known for his work on HGTV 'DESIGN STAR' where Tyler showcased his talents both as a designer and as a television personality. He has since been featured on the NBC makeover show, “George to the Rescue,” and filmed several news segments as a design expert. Recognizing his keen eye, the mega online retailer, OpenSky, asked Tyler to come aboard as a permanent Taste Maker. Says Tyler: “The measure of a great room is the amount of happiness you feel when you’re in it…”If you need quick advice for a home improvement project, check out our 3,300 blogs or 1,000 vidoes. Or just send us a note. We're happy to help.
