In this episode of From the Pasture with Hired Hand, we’re talking with Matt Bourbon, committee member for the TLBAA Horn Showcase, happening October 1st–4th at the Canadian County Expo Center in El Reno, Oklahoma. This premier Texas Longhorn event continues to raise the bar year after year — honoring its roots from 2000 while bringing exciting new opportunities for breeders and buyers.

The official kickoff begins Wednesday, October 2nd at 8:00 AM with measuring on-site and at satellite locations for an impressive 483 animals. On Friday, October 3rd, the highly anticipated Select Heifer Sale starts at 11:00 AM, followed by the Bull Alley Reception at 5:00 PM and Bull Alley at 6:00 PM. Saturday, October 4th, features the Horn Showcase Futurity, starting at 9:00 AM with 195 entries spanning 18 classes.

Matt shares how this year’s event is continuing to grow, what attendees can expect on-site in El Reno, and why the Horn Showcase remains one of the most exciting weekends in the Texas Longhorn world.
