Insider Trading Research with Professors Salman Arif, Joseph Schroeder, and Daniel Taylor

In this episode, CII General Counsel Jeff Mahoney interviews Professors Salman Arif and Joseph Schroeder of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, and Professor Daniel Taylor of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Professors Arif, Schroeder, and Taylor (and Professor John Kepler of the Wharton School) are the co-authors of a new research paper entitled Audit Process, Private Information, and Insider Trading. The paper examines whether corporate insiders trade based on private information about audited findings. Mr. Mahoney asks the Professors about the potential implications of their research on long-term investors, draft federal legislation on insider trading, and public company auditing standards.
