Insights into Tefilah from a Nun

I found out last night that my great-aunt - Sister Susan, a Catholic nun - died from COVID-19 at the age of 93. Half an hour before the shiur my mom sent me a newspaper clipping from when Sister Susan retired after 44 years of service with the Sisters of Social Service (a convent which, during World War II, is credited with saving the lives of over a thousand Jews from Nazi persecution). This clipping contained a short quotation from Sister Susan about prayer. I decided to start our tefilah shiur tonight by discussing that quotation and its implications. This turned into a whole discussion about how we can improve our davening, and the discussion was very productive.
