Inspiration For All College Students Feeling Stuck - Interview with Billie Solley

from Okay, Now What? - With Kate Gladdin · host Kate Fitzsimons

The pandemic has been a sucker punch for us all, but especially all you college students who were pumped for a whole new chapter of fun and independence - only to be stuck back at home with your parents again and feeling like you've lost all sense of freedom. I'm sure many of you can relate, right? It's easy to feel sorry for yourself and want to just scream at the world for being so unfair - we've all had those moments over the past year, trust me. But what matters most is ensuring self pity not the place you stay wallowing in. Which is why I'm excited to share with you an interview with a previous coaching student of mine, Billie Solley! She was feeling trapped back at home with her family last year when she was hit with unexpected news that recalls seemed like ''the worst thing ever'' - something I think any other college student in her shoes would've felt the same. But what makes Billie's story so inspiring is her attitude and how she CHOSE to respond - now she's doing work that's changing the lives of hundreds of people and turned that ''worst thing'' into the best thing that's happened to her. It's a choice that was outside the box but one that I think more college students should consider if they're feeling stuck, unsettled, unfulfilled or unsure of what path to take in life - listen to Billie's story to be reminded that you truly are the navigator of your ship, no matter how rough the seas. Because YOUR response is YOUR choice.  Want to feel more confident and less stressed every day?
