from Living Well with PMDD

In episode 1 of this podcast, Heidi talks about hearing of the death of a woman. Hearing about this woman's death was the catalyst to Heidi taking steps to finding out more about PMDD. Heidi moved to a different state a few months after learning of this woman's death, and did not remember her name...only her married last name. This week, Heidi discovered the woman's name and the inspiring actions of this woman's mother, particularly since her daughter's death. Listen for the details.Take Aways-Christina Elizabeth Bohn was diagnosed with PMDD about 11 years after having symptoms.-Christina's mother, Marybeth Bohn, has advocated for more awareness about PMDD in the hopes that women will be diagnosed within a few months.-Missouri held their first PMDD Awareness Day in October of 2023-Christina is an inspiration in that she sought help and did all she could to try and figure things out. -"PMDD is a great liar and thief. My husband and I witnessed how PMDD lied to our daughter every month, convincing her she was worthless, and we saw how PMDD stole everything from her. Had doctors and nurses known about PMDD and had asked her about her menstrual cycle, she might have received appropriate treatment options earlier." -Marybeth BohnOther Sourceshttps://www.newstribune.com/news/2023/sep/22/missouri-to-host-first-premenstrual-dysphoric-disorder-awareness-day/#:~:text=Missouri's%20first%20Premenstrual%20Dysphoric%20Disorder,the%20issue%2C%20said%20Marybeth%20Bohn.https://iapmd.org/board-of-directorsWant more support? ❤️Click here to talk with me.
