On Wednesday Dec 10th @ 7PM EST, Dr. Alisa Murli, ND (she/her) joined us for episode 14. ✨ We discussed: - Learning how to spot and differentiate between common vaginal issues that folks may encounter in their late 20s and 30s. - Learning safe natural, ways to prevent pesky pelvic issues like recurrent yeast infections, urinary tract infections (UTI's) and more. - How to optimize your vaginal hygiene routine -- everything including the do's and don'ts of douching, washing, and the importance of the vaginal microbiome. + MORE Who is Dr. Alisa Murli? Dr. Alisa Murli, ND is a naturopathic doctor whose philosophy is to promote a well-balanced and therefore sustainable healthy lifestyle for her patients. She graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science, and then went on to complete her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Her main focus is in women’s health concerns, particularly PCOS, endometriosis, PMS/PMDD, prenatal care, pregnancy, and post-partum care. She is also a pelvic floor therapist, who helps with concerns related to pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, and post-partum strengthening. Dr. Murli is also a birth doula, and has extra training in cosmetic acupuncture. Dr Murli is a very social being. In her spare time, she LOVES spending time with her dog, her family and friends. Our mission is to help self-identified women and non-binary folx empower themselves on their wellness journey in two ways: 1. The first, through education on the Inspiring Insights Show for a healthier, more inclusive world. We host weekly discussions with practitioners on various modalities and healing techniques. 2. The second, through our referral network of over 20+ alternative wellness practitioners. We direct clients to the right care for what they are looking for and help to connect practitioners to each other. We provide client feedback along the way so that practitioners can improve their own practice. Reawaken Co.'s Values: - We amplify the voices of self-identified women and non-binary folx. - We value the synergy of doing and completing work together, and that being in the company of like-minded individuals can inspire more change than we can each do alone. - We recognize the value of each individual life and we see that historically, womxn have been marginalized in wellness spaces. - We recognize the intersectionality of skin colour, gender expression, sexuality, ethnicity and its effects on the continued oppression of folx navigating AND working within the wellness framework.
