In 1997 Heidi Kühn launched the nonprofit Roots of Peace which removes landmines in conflict areas of the world and replants the fields with crops, putting people to work, providing a source of food, education and commerce, and saving lives. Her memoir is "Breaking Ground." Bonny Meyer started Napa Valley's acclaimed Silver Oak Cellars in the 1970s with husband, Justin Meyer.
