Speaker: Julian Richardson is full time CEO of Parhelion Underwriting, with 19 years’ experience in climate finance and 25 years’ experience in the re/insurance sector. He is a recognized innovator in climate risk and sustainable finance. He is a Specialist advisor on insurance and resilience to the UK government Department for International Trade. He spent 12 years as a broker at Marsh responsible for Middle East energy business before moving to GE where he was the senior underwriting risk manager responsible for the Global Markets portfolio. Parhelion is a mission orientated business working at the nexus of policy makers, private sector investors, re/insurers, development finance institutions and NGOs. Parhelion uses private sector insurance underwriting capital to support the deployment of other forms of capital in to sustainable development investment opportunities. Julian has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management and is a Research Associate of the Geochemical and Environmental Research Group at Texas A&M University. He is also an INSEAD Alumni and has spoken at numerous international conferences on climate finance and risk.
