This integrative review evaluates a decade of research to identify what helps or hinders nurses in providing equitable care to migrant populations. The study highlights that while exposure to multicultural contexts and personal respect for diversity act as primary facilitators, practitioners are frequently obstructed by language barriers and a lack of formal institutional training. By synthesizing evidence from fourteen global studies, the text argues that cultural competence is not a static skill but a dynamic process shaped by both individual experience and organizational support.
