Intel Turns Lower; Oracle Declines; Canada Goose Tumbles

Today’s biggest winners and losers in the stock market.  On this episode of Stock Movers:  Shares of Intel (INTC) fell ahead of Friday’s closing bell, reversing an initial advance that came after the chipmaker’s third-quarter forecast was much stronger than analysts’ expectations. The results highlighted both the durability of AI-related demand, as well as the success of Intel’s turnaround, although it wasn’t enough to extend a rally that has already taken shares up more than 160% this year.  Shares of Oracle (ORCL) pared gains from earlier in the week, which came after the software company said it had been awarded a 10-year IDIQ contract by the US Department of Defense under its Enterprise Software Initiative. The contract is valued at $3.31 billion for the first five years and up to $6.99 billion if options are exercised.  Shares of Canada Goose (GOOS) tumbled in Friday trading after the company was downgraded to sell from hold by Williams Trading analyst Sam Poser, who also cut the price target on the apparel company to C$10 from C$12. Poser sees “great risk” that GOOS will cut or pull its FY27 guidance, due to potential additional 50% tariff on goods shipped to the US, which is set to take effect on August 19th.
