On Thursday, Interim Dallas police Chief Michael Igo asserted that his officers will help federal authorities arrest anyone wanted for a crime, clarifying a viral remark he made about immigration enforcement after receiving national criticism. At a special meeting, trustees voted 6-0 to accept her resignation with one board member absent; and eager to reverse a string of defeats at the Texas Legislature, pro-gambling forces are bringing a new attitude — and a pared-down vision — to the goal of allowing state-sanctioned casinos and sports betting in Texas.
