Interior Designer Kathryn M. Ireland on building her Textiles Empire

If you're a fan of interior-design-oriented magazines, you may have seen Kathryn Ireland on the cover of Elle Décor, Luxe and World of Interiors magazines this past year.  And that's just in 2018!   Kathryn's signature style, which is chic and feels grand—but is also comfy and a little boho—has attracted clients including Steve Martin, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Caroline Kennedy. She has authored six best selling books and recently launched an innovative, online design platform called The Perfect Room.   In this episode, the British-born, mother of three  shares with Linda the story of how she pivoted from being a successful music video producer for artists like The Bangles and Paul Simon to become one of most influential designers in the world; how her textiles business was inspired by a tattered patchwork quilt on her bed that her kids had ruined by playing on it; and how, in a calculated move, she has kept her finger on the pulse of technology—a move that has inspired her latest endeavor, The Perfect Room.
