This scoping review examines the evolving landscape of Clinical Decision Support Systems designed to help healthcare providers manage the complex side effects of cancer treatment. By analyzing over twenty years of research, the authors reveal that while rule-based logic remains the dominant framework, there is a growing shift toward incorporating artificial intelligence and hybrid architectures to handle intricate patient data. Despite the potential of these tools to enhance quality of life, the study identifies a significant gap in electronic health record integration, which currently hinders their widespread adoption in clinical settings. Ultimately, the text serves as a roadmap for future development, emphasizing the need for enhanced interoperability and standardized evaluation to bridge the gap between technological innovation and practical nursing care.
