Along the way: the 1980 US Grand Prix at Long Beach, where he stood within ten feet of two lifelong friends and only recognized one of them; a Formula Ford career that ended when talent and money ran out simultaneously; and what actually happened decades later when he decided to go back and finish something he'd left unfinished. He also talks about why he thinks Formula One has gotten more polished and less romantic at the same time, and what's been lost along the way.
