Interview 77: A History and Assessment of the Christian School Movement

I’ve already talked to some of our authors for the Frontline edition on the theme, “The Christian School Revival.” If you’ve missed those sessions, I encourage you to go back and look at them.For today’s podcast, I’m talking to the associate editor for this edition, Ken Rathbun. This podcast discusses the theme as a whole and also takes a look at Ken’s opening article, “A History and Assessment of the Christian School Movement.” Ken had a mostly Christian education from elementary school on up. He’ll talk a little bit about his own history, but he is also discussing where the Christian school movement is today.Along the way, we discuss reasons why parents should consider a Christian education for their children as well as the emphasis churches ought to have in promoting the work of Christian schools. We realize that it is impossible for some churches to establish and run a Christian school, but we can still promote their growth and channel young people in the direction of being Christian school educators. The need is great and we can still have a powerful ministry in the homes of our nation through the Christian school movement.
